Lights Blinking, Dimming In A Home

Our New Orleans electrician was dispatched to a clients home in the city of New Orleans. The electrical service was the troubleshoot the electric power outage in a home in New Orleans. These older homes in uptown New Orleans have old knob and tube electrical wiring within the home. Knob and tube wiring in an electrical residential wiring that is wrapped in cla cloth electrical insulator. Usually the knob and tube wiring fails which results in electrical power outages within the home causing electrical outlets, light switches, and appliances not to receive electrical current. The New Orleans Electrician is shipped in performing electrical knob and tube wiring repairs, when the New Orleans Electrician began to test the electrical circuit breaker panel the New Orleans electrician determines that the wiring within the home was good and the the 200 amp meter socket had a problem.

The New Orleans electrician with care opened the 200 amp meter socket and found a faulty lug.

The New Orleans electrician show the client that the problem that caused the home to lose electrical power within the lights and the outlet sockets was the burned connection.

The remedy to correct this problem is to remove the 200 amp meter socket and install a new 200 amp meter socket. Also the New Orleans electrician would remove the aluminum feed cable that connections the the main power feeder and install new copper wiring.
